I don't have much medical news to report today. We spent the day doing a lot of walking around. Julianne is no longer content to stay in her bed. We like it that way! It means she's feeling better. :) She walked around a lot by herself today. She wasn't feeling up to stepping up steps, but she just needs more time to recover. She was off her feet for almost 2 weeks. We looked at fish, went back to the garden, looked at the balls, went to the CVS that's in the hospital, played ball in the Patient Entertainment area, Julianne met friends in the halls, played ball in the garden, fed her mommy and daddy french fries, rode the elevator that stops at every floor, drank another 60ml through a straw and ate almost a whole jar of pears and a 1/2 jar applesauce. Now she's conked out!
Funny thing, it's another Louisiana gathering up here as we've already met 2 more families from Louisiana and we know 2 more that are on their way this week!
Below is a great picture. Its Julianne's monitor! Look at those Oxygen Saturations on ROOM AIR! I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but Julianne has a non-fenestrated, extra-cardiac Fontan. Dr. Pigula ended up not giving Julianne a fenestration because her pressures were so good in the cath lab!! Apparently this is not something they do all that often here. It can mean a little extra fluid draining time, but it also means higher O2 sats sooner AND it means we won't need to have a fenestration closed via cath in a few years. The change came as somewhat of a surprise to us, but I'm really happy she's doing so well with it. :)
