Busy Day!

Well, the day started with phlebotomy coming to draw labs at 5:30 AM! So Julianne's morning did not start well for her. They needed 4 tubes of blood...it took a while.

Then the doctors made their rounds.

Then Julianne had another blood/poop diaper. It wasn't a lot of red blood like before. It was actually mixed in with the poop. So, they didn't know it was blood until they had it tested. It just looked off color to me, so I asked them to take a look at it. So, then she was off of her feeds and going on IV fluids. 15 minutes later, she's back on her feeds but with no additional calories and we're giving her what we can by bottle first. The doctors decided to go back on the feeds because the blood was mixed in, which indicated that it could just be leftover from her problem over the weekend.

Next, Electrophysiology came to put a Holter monitor on Julianne to monitor her for the next 24 hours due to her arrhythmia history. The leads here are big plastic clips...very weird and seems uncomfortable.

The cardiologist came in next and said she looked good.

Julianne then took 16 ML by bottle without throwing up! At the following feedings 12 ML, 10 ML and 14 ML...all with no vomiting. Not without gagging, but at least the milk stayed down.

The GI doctor came to visit today as well. He talked about some options to try if the blood continues. It could be an allergy. So far, the blood issue seems to be improving.

We had a busy day filled with ups and downs. At one point I was very frustrated because I felt that one of the doctors was not listening to what I was trying to tell him. It was like he just wanted me to quit talking. Thankfully, our nurse, to whom I expressed my concern, talked with the doctor and he came back in. After that, I felt more like he understood what I was trying to tell him.

Thank you for your continued prayers. We'll keep you posted. I'm hoping that tomorrow will bring less action and Julianne and I can just focus on getting her to drink from a bottle.

I am praying that God will help Julianne to keep her feedings down and have a restful day.

I also pray for both of you that God continues to give you the strength to handle the ups and downs.

Jessica I am glad that you expressed your feelings.Maybe now they will realize that you all will not just sit by and let them make all the decisions for your baby.

May God Bless you all.
