Tube

So, the great news...THE CHEST TUBE IS GONE!!!! This is such great news. Its so much easier to move Julianne around and so much more comfortable for her. For the first time since her surgery Julianne fell asleep while I held and rocked her today. She'd just been too uncomfortable for that with the chest tube. Julianne ended up draining only 60ml of fluid yesterday and the chest x-ray looked better so, out it went!! The removal was still pretty rough for Julianne, but the result was worth it.

The not so great news is the air pocket, or Pneumothorax, that she has in her chest has gotten bigger. It looked better at her morning chest x-ray, but by afternoon it was taking up 10% of the right side of her chest. She was also breathing heavier and had a faster heart rate at that time. In addition to that she had an elevated temperature...but not a fever. So, the breathing and heart rate could definitely be from a fever. Anyway, they repeated the chest x-ray at 7 and it looked the same. By this time she was feeling a lot better...her breathing settled out and her heart rate, so they're just going to watch her tonight and do another x-ray in the morning. Please pray that this thing goes away. If it doesn't go away it would mean another chest tube for Julianne and we REALLY, REALLY don't want that and we're pretty sure she doesn't want that either.

We did get to make a quick trip out to the garden today. Unfortunately, Julianne wasn't really into it. That was when she was feeling kind of bad. It was nice to have her out in the sunshine though. :)

We did get some play time in today! We played with her water bucket and blew lots of bubbles again!! Julianne is such a happy girl...even in a hospital. :) Thank you so much for checking in on us and for all of your prayers and encouragement! We are thanking God for a chest-tubeless baby tonight!! :)
