A Laugh a Minute

Lately Julianne has really kept us laughing. Here are a few precious moments:

Me: "Julianne, what does Scooby Doo say?" She has never watched Scooby Doo. She's only seen her Mommy's impression of Scooby Doo. I was totally expecting her to say, "hee-hee hee-hee" the way I always do it. She didn't. Instead...
Julianne: (in a deeper than normal voice) "Hi, Julianne...It's me...Scooby Doo."


Me: "Julianne, what's your rocking horse's name?"
Julianne: "Ride-on-it"
Me: "His name is Ride-on-it?"
Julianne: "Yes"

Yesterday as Kent was mowing the lawn I pointed out the window to hima
Me: "What's daddy doing?"
Julianne: "He's riding."
Me: "What's he riding on?"
Julianne: "A FIRETRUCK!!"

Then, on the way to New Orleans on Tuesday to meet up with my great-aunt Sarah and my cousins (which we did and had a wonderful time!!), we stopped at Tanger outlet so I could do Julianne's tube feeding. After we finished I decided to use the PUBLIC restroom before we got on the road. I gave Julianne my purse to hold, just like I always do, to keep her from touching anything (this bathroom was especially dirty). I turned around for one second and....SPLASH! My purse was in the toilet...awesome. After the 30 seconds of shock wore off all I could do was laugh. I "washed" everything in my purse with sanitizer and threw away the purse itself and anything made of paper. Fortunately, I don't carry cash. I guess I asked for it...We are now working on what does and does not belong in the toilet.

Julianne had a G.I. appointment where we found out she is in the 75th percentile for weight and about the 18th percentile for height. Ha ha...our little butterball. Her doctor said to keep her calories the same for now, but if she's still this disproportionate after she's recovered from surgery we'll decrease calories. They want Julianne to have some extra padding for surgery and also we want to see if there's a growth spurt coming.

We've been enjoying our days laughing with Julianne and trying very hard not to think about what is coming at the end of April. Here is some of what we've been up to:

We've cooked together

We've enjoyed lazy days with the windows open and the breeze blowing in (South LA friends, you know how few and far between THOSE days are)

We've enjoyed taking picture upon picture (oh wait...that's nothing new)

We went to Z-Fest at which Julianne's favorite ride was the "shuttle" from parking...a.k.a a school bus.

She rode the carousel with daddy

And took a picture with the Rasin' Canes dog....mmm...makes me want chicken! Seriously.

She talked, danced, sang, threw balls to, and pretended to be mickey mouse for her new mirror

She got wild and crazy with the maracas at aunt Suzette's house

Finally, we made Easter baskets for our sweet neighbors and spent yesterday and today delivering them and visiting with our neighbors.

We have had a wonderfully, comical couple of weeks. Including an incident on Thursday in which I pulled out Julianne's entire g-tube button by accident. Ahhhh....I'm so thankful that God gave me a sense of humor. Its a blessing for sure. Tomorrow we'll celebrate Jesus' resurrection by attending church and having Easter lunch with my family. Julianne will hunt some eggs somewhere in there, but she doesn't know that yet. People keep asking her, "Is the Easter Bunny coming to see you?" and she has no idea what they're talking about. I think if I told her a rabbit was coming to hide things in the yard she'd probably say, "Noooo...I stay inside." Tomorrow will be a great day and I am very thankful for what we're celebrating. We're celebrating God's gift of salvation. I know I post about a lot of things for which I'm thankful, but this is the thing for which I'm most grateful. I pray that all of you would know this same joy. I can't imagine my life without it.
