Sorry, No Halloween Pictures

I know! What a lame mom. I didn't take any pictures of Julianne on Halloween. She was dressed as a Saints cheerleader and I had some pictures from the LPCF picnic where she was dressed as the same thing, so we'll call those her "Halloween Pictures." :)

We'll first lets start with last weekend...Do you ever just have "one of those days?" I got totally ready for church on Sunday morning, but waited until 5 minutes before leaving to put Julianne's dress on her. Its a white sailor dress, so I didn't want it getting messed up. So, Julianne was sitting in her stroller with her feet up on the tray as I ate breakfast. When I finished eating I took her out of the stroller to go get her dressed and said, "Whoo! You are stinky...let's change that diaper!" So, I lied her down on her changing mat to get changed. THEN I SAW IT. Poop all over my clothes, her PJ's, her legs and her diaper! So, I got her all cleaned up, diaper changed and sat her up to get her dressed. I looked down to figure out which was the front and which was the back on her outfit and when I looked up she'd opened her g-tube button and all of the formula she'd just gotten had spilled out all over her belly, her fresh diaper, her legs and the bed. So, I cleaned her up, dressed and set her in her crib so I could go put the stroller in the car. That's when I noticed the stroller was covered in poop...*big sigh*. I cleaned all the poop off the stroller and grabbed my full cup of Dr. Pepper to bring in the car. I put it in the cup holder of the stroller and brought it out to the car. As I closed the stroller to put it in the car I hear "CRACK", "SPLASH". I crushed an ENTIRE can of Dr. Pepper all over the stroller!!! So, I get out the hose and clean it all off. Finally, as I was parking the stroller in the sun to dry I catch the bottom of my big toe in the stroller brake! I mean, come on! Is this for real? Needless to say, we were oh-so-late for church. I think I got there like 20 minutes late. That was not the end of "the day." On our way back to New Orleans from Zachary we got into a wreck on I-10. I haven't been that scared in a long time! As soon as we were safely on the shoulder we thanked God! You know those crazy drivers who dart in and out of traffic and you say, "they're going to kill someone!" Well, one of those cars hit us as they were darting in and out of traffic. Julianne was asleep and basically just opened her eyes and looked around as her crazy mommy was screaming. I'm so glad Kent was driving. Julianne felt little to no jolt from the accident. A while back (after watching some alarming crash test videos) we decided to keep her car seat rear facing as long as she was below the weight limit for rear facing. As it turns out, it was a good decision. From what I saw in her baby mirror, she barely even moved. So, Julianne, you're doomed to look at the back seat until you weigh 35 pounds. :)

Now, on to this weekend...We first had to get a rental vehicle, which was relatively easy. Then, after Kent got off of work on Friday, we drove to Lafayette and visited with Kent's parents. Saturday morning we woke up, ate breakfast and then went to First Baptist Lafayette to meet some of the people who've so faithfully prayed for Julianne. After that, we met some friends for lunch and at the same time ran into some other friends (that we hadn't seen in 5-6 years). Then we went and tailgated at the UL Lafayette game for a little while and visited with a few more friends. We then made our way back to Kent's parents' house so Julianne could get a little nap in. 45 minutes later we headed out again to go visit some friends and meet their daughter who is only 6 weeks younger than Julianne. We stayed for about an hour and left to meet Kent's parents for dinner. We had some yummy, yummy food and then met other friends for ice cream and got to see their little boy and their new, 6 week old baby boy. After that (approximately 9 PM), we went back to Kent's parents' house, packed up our stuff and were on the road by 10 PM. We had to be in Zachary for 9AM Sunday morning for Kent to lead worship at Zachary Community Church. What? Yup! Kent is now leading worship at Zachary Community Church in Zachary, LA. We hope to move to the area sometime in the next few months. We're really excited. We're now back home and too tired to move anything more than my typing fingers.

Julianne is finally getting over her cold and the gagging is getting a little more back to "normal." An exciting bit of news is that she moved on her own for the first time today! Julianne was lying on her belly on her mat at my parents' house and scooted several feet backward! It was really exciting. Its not huge, but its a start at least. :) I have a video, but the computer is dying and I don't even have the energy to dig out the power cord and plug it in. So, I'll post that video later. We leave for the quick trip to Boston on Thursday so I'm sure we'll have an update after that.

Thanks, as always, for checking in and for your prayers. :) They're ALWAYS appreciated!

I just came across your blog through another blog and I wanted to tell you that your daughter is simply precious! I went back and read all your posts from the beginning and I am amazed at how well Julianne is doing! What a strong daughter you have! You can add me to the list of Prayer Warriors out there that will be praying for Julianne!
