Monday Update

Julianne wasn't quite like we'd hoped she'd be this morning, but we're still thankful that the consensus seems to be a reaction to the Reglan.  When she was stuck looking to the left again this morning we were concerned because she was no longer being given Reglan.   We found out that it can take several days for the effects of the Reglan reaction to wear off.  She'll continue to get Benadryl and that kind of helps short term.  There wasn't as noticeable improvement when the Benadryl was given this morning as there was last night when the Benadryl was given.  Neurology is going to take another look at her today (in fact, I think they're coming in the door now).

Ok, they're done, I'm back.  The thought is still that its a Reglan reaction.  They were happy with how she looks right now.  She'd just woken up from a nap and was looking ahead.

Julianne has slowly played and smiled a little with us today, so that was nice. Like I said yesterday, she's not going to be fully "Julianne" right now because she's still sick due to her poor heart function.  We're happy getting the smiles we can get though. :)

She had an echo this morning but we haven't hear the result yet.  Julianne's cardiac MRI is scheduled for Wednesday with the thought being that since she has to be intubated for the MRI they'll just do it on Wednesday and keep her intubated until surgery on Thursday.

Thank you so much for all of your encouraging words!! They really mean a lot to Kent and I!!  Thank you also for all of your prayers.  We're so thankful to have so many joining us in prayer for our baby girl.

Sorry to hear that she's still not quite herself. She will get better with time. We pray that she gets stronger and stronger each day.

We will be praying that all goes well with her procedures this week, especially the surgery.

She's a tough cookie and lots and lots of people praying for her.

She will grow up to be a strong, independant, woman!!!! We've seen she's got the stamina to pull through even the most trying times.

Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.....sending love from down south!!

XOXOXOXO

Kent and Julianne, we're so glad to hear that it's likely only a fixable drug reaction! We continue to pray for you and your sweet darling baby. We can't wait to someday give her a kiss in person. Meanwhile, we're sending lots of virtual hugs and kisses to you all. love, sherry and paul z.

Although she not completely back to her Julianne self I am glad that she is doing better than yesterday.

Everyone that sees her picture says how beautiful she is and how healthy she looks. So many people from my work are genuinely concerned and are praying for her.

I continue to pray for you all and love you!

We are thinking about all of you alot! I pray for a much better day today for Julianna and for you and Kent!! After my dad passed, which was right when Julianne was born it always gives me strength to know that God brings adults home and gives us our beautiful children in return! Hope you have a better day today!

We appreciate that in the midst of all that is happening, you find the time to post updates-- allowing us to feel almost like we know Julianne personally.

I pray that this surgery will resolve so many of these complications J.C. has faced!

One of my professors at LSU conducted a major study of the effects of music on children in an ICU setting. She found that children who listened to music recovered quicker and had better heart rates and oxygen sats, so sing sing sing and I'll pray pray pray!!!

We continue to pray for you and the doctors. Praise God for His answer through the doctors and benadryl. We pray for more smiles and giggles from Julianne and that as the Reglan continues to leave her body she will grow stronger. She is definitely covered in prayers and will continue to be as she prepares for the procedures on Wed. and surgery on Thurs.
We thank God for you and your precious gift,
erin c.
