Staying Home

Well, I'm only one day late, but here's the update. As you know, Julianne was freed on Wednesday. It was quite a surprise, considering we'd just heard an hour before that she likely wouldn't get out until at least Friday. Late Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Crapanzano came by and said Julianne could go home! Julianne's numbers had been stable and increasing and her platelets were up to 225,000 that morning. All they were doing was monitoring labs and that could definitely be done outpatient. So, today we headed to the lab for a CBC. We don't have the results yet, but there's no reason to think the results won't be good! She has a follow-up with the ped on Monday and labs and a follow-up with the Hematologist (who we REALLY liked...she was such a gentle and kind lady) next week.

Will Julianne ever take Bactrim again? NO, NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO!!!! Neither will I or Kent, for that matter. No Bactrim in this house please!

Julianne started the new antibiotic, Ciprofloxacin, yesterday. So far so good... She'll be monitored with weekly labs.

She's really happy to be home and keeps being "Nurse Julianne" or "Nurse Sweetums" or "Nurse Toodles." Speaking of Toodles, lately Julianne has been telling people that she IS Toodles. Here's a picture of Toodles (from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), if you don't know who he is:

Last weekend was pretty tough, but God carried our family through, once again, and we are so very, very, beyond very, grateful! Thank you, everyone for your prayers and encouragement. We know that things could have been so much worse and we are so thankful that they weren't!

I'll leave you with this video of Nurse Julianne doing her assessment...

Oh my gosh!! I love the video. I see a medical career in her future!! She will certainly be able to empathize with her patiants!! I also had the pleasure of nurse Julianne when she poked me with her fingers telling me she was trying to find a good vein to take my blood.;)

So glad that you all are back home and she is doing better. You all continue to be in my prayers!

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
