We Made It!

Well, we made it to Boston! Julianne did WONDERFUL on the plane and in between flights. She's such a great travel buddy. She did great through security and made even the very straight-faced security agents bust out laughing as she insisted she was standing on a "peanut", which was supposed to be a picture of a footprint, and reached out to shake their hands saying "nice to meet you!". Our flight was delayed so we made it to Boston about two hours later than we planned. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the swan boats before they closed today. Julianne was pretty bummed about it. We're hoping to make it happen tomorrow.

We have an early start tomorrow...7:30 AM. Julianne will have the pre-op usuals: EKG, Echo, labs, chest x-ray, meeting with surgeon, anesthesiologist, Dr. Breitbart, E.P. Last year this took a LOOOOONNNNNNNG time. I am really hoping we can finish no later than three so we can make it to the swan boats. Julianne has really been looking forward to riding them again.

We are so grateful, once again, to have a room at the Devon Nicole House (which is actually now "The House on Autumn"). Julianne is tucked into bed, but has yet to fall asleep despite our best attempts. She's just way to interested in what is going on outside of our room. This evening we walked down to Coolidge Corners and had dinner, then stopped at a park and let Julianne swing and play for while. After waking up at 6:00 this morning you would think she'd be exhausted!

Thank you all so very much for all of your prayers. Today was a busy, but great day! Please continue to pray as we get ready for this surgery. While its not nearly as complicated as the other surgeries have been, its still surgery. I don't think any mom or dad wants to see their child have to have a surgery...no matter how small. As you may or may not know, I have a tendency to struggle with worry. When I've found myself worrying over "what if" scenerios, God has put these verses in my heart:

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Phillipians 4:4-9

While I pray for peace everyday, I also have to physically remind myself to think about "whatever is true" and instead of thinking of all the crazy things I'm afraid of, I try to think of what God has done in our lives in the past and what He promises to do in His word. Please continue to pray for peace for us and also peace for our little girl. She will be pretty stressed tomorrow. Of course, we are also praying for protection and guidance for Julianne's doctors, surgeons and nurses. This surgery should be "easy". :)

I thought this was going to be a "quick" update! So much for that! Ha! Sleep tight all!
