We Thought We Were Done For A While But...

...apparently not. Julianne woke up this morning coughing a lot and was just really unhappy. I noticed the ruffle on her nightgown was vibrating so I checked her heart rate and, sure enough, it was over 220 BPM. We brought her to the Our Lady of the Lake ER and after a lot of struggle for IV access Julianne was converted back to a normal rhythm with Adenosine after about 3 hours of SVT. She woke up with it so we really don't know how long she was in it.

She also has a small pneumonia. Its possible that she aspirated and that caused the pneumonia. Being sick may have made her more susceptible to the arryhthmia and fast heart rate and that could be why this is just showing up.

It looks like Julianne will have to go back on Amiodarone and that the ablation didn't eliminate the arrhythmia. We really didn't want her to have to be on Amiodarone but we knew this was a possibility . The ablation was never a "sure thing".

So, Julianne is in the PICU now. She'll be started on Amiodarone and will be monitored for the next few days. She's also going to be getting anti-biotics for the pneumonia. She is not happy to be here! I'm sure you can imagine. :( I was pretty disappointed that she has to go through all of this again. I'm very thankful that God gave us the wisdom to check her heart rate and get her to the ER. I'm also thankful for Dr. Crapanzano and Lisa who are so wonderful at taking care of our girl. Most of all I'm grateful for God's constant care and watch over our little juju!

Please keep Julianne in your prayers as her meds are adjusted and she recovers. Thanks so much!! God is always good.

I am so sorry that Julianne ended up back in the hospital so soon.

You all are so intune to Julianne's ups and downs and so it is a blessing that you were able to figure out that something was not right.

I know that it must be so hard now to try to keep her happy when she is in the hospital.

You are all in my prayers.

Love you,
Aunt\Great Aunt Suzette

My goodness, where have I been? I am just catching up on the past few weeks of your blog & Julianne has already recovered from surgery!
Sorry about this set back, but happy to see that surgery is behind you! Wow, it hits close to home seeing Julianne in the hospital. Josh will follow her lead in a couple months...can't quite wrap my mind around it, but those pictures of Julianne post-op got to me.
Anyway, I have to say, Julianne sure makes me smile!!!
