Valentine's Pictures and an Update

Well, Julianne had a great Valentine's day with her Daddy and Mommy at "Family Gras" in Metairie. We were able to see Gavin DeGraw, Sara Bareilles and best of all, the Zac Brown Band play. Julianne loves music and had a great time. She did sleep through the entire Sara Bareilles performance though. :) The only problem was that it kept getting colder and colder (thankfully, we'd brought several layers of clothing for Julianne) and finally ended in rain at the very end of the Zac Brown Band performance. It was a great day with our Baby Boo.

Julianne is doing so much these days! She's crawling all over the place, pulling up to stand and even taking a few steps sideways while holding on to our ottomans! She is making great strides in her gross motor development. With great strides in her gross motor abilities has come great difficulty in taking a picture of our little mover! I tried to get some cute pictures of Julianne in her Valentine's dress and in addition to some cute ones I got some rather funny ones:

Taking out the bow

Hiding the bow so mommy can't put it back in her hair

Julianne has a big week ahead of her with 3 therapies, a g-tube button change (the Bard button she has now has been slowly driving us INSANE and we're having it switched to a Mic-key), a Neurologist follow-up appointment, and an Opthalmologist appointment. I'm a little nervous about the button change, but the nurse has assured me its an easy procedure. The stuff I've read on the internet has made me a little bit unsure...I read that it can be difficult getting the Bard out after its been in there for a while (she's had it about 10 months). I just pray that it won't cause Julianne any pain or stress and that things will go smoothly.

Julianne is up to about 1 1/2 ounces of formula by mouth, twice a day AND she's eating about a 1/2 tablespoon of sour cream at a time. This has been really exciting for us! At the same time, however, her gagging and retching is back...sigh...We really thought the Periactin was working, but then she seemed to get a cold about 2 months ago and the gagging returned. Well, it still hasn't gone away. That has been extremely frustrating and is always heartbreaking to watch her go through all of that. We continue to pray for healing for Julianne's gagging and retching problem, but remain thankful that she's only gagging and retching about 3 times a day when it used to be 6-7 times a day. We really have so much to thank God for doing for our baby girl. Her heart is doing well, she's growing, she's learning and He has given us the opportunity to take care of her everyday. We try to never lose sight of what a miracle each day is. Thank you for continuing to follow Julianne's Journey and for your prayers and encouragement. It means so much to us!

What a great Valentines Day! Julianne, Kent, and Jessica arrived late Saturday evening after all the fun day they had together. Julianne's room was all ready and waiting with her favorite lullabyies playing , her sound machine running , one little light on in the corner all,so, she could quietly slip into bed . Daddy , Kent, came in first to calm the inside dogs , Coca and Pixie, and Jessica managed to sneak past Bear (outside dog). Julianne was sleeping soundly until, of all things,Jessica pulled open the screen door and the squeak of the door awakened Julianne enough for her to say " Grammie?","Grammie?" I watched as Jessica came in saying "shh! shh!" carried her off to her crib, laid her down, she said "Grammie" once more and went sound to sleep. That really made my day ! Could not have asked for any better Valentines gift from my grandbaby. We are so thankful to our heavenly Father for allowing us to have this very special little Valentine in our lives and the two very special parents who care so profoundly and completely for their little baby girl, Julianne. God Bless you three! Kisses & Hugs, Grammie

Oh, the gag reflex!!! Libby used to throw up CONSTANTLY!!!! I swear, I am not being a psycho about your blog, it's just so rare to find someone who knows what it's like to have a feeding sensitive child. They do grow past it, in their own time...
