We made it to Ochsner to deliver gifts and got to see some of Julianne's nurses from her stays over the past year. Thank you all for your gifts and donations. We did take a group picture while we were there, but I'll have to see if they can email it to me (I didn't bring the camera, doh!).
Julianne now knows 5 animal sounds:
She can make the sound if you say, "What does a sheep (dog, cow, duck, snake) say?" or she can tell you which animal says, "moooooo" (ruf, ruf, quack, baaaa, sssss). The animal names are a little harder to recognize than the sounds. She used to say "DAWWWWWWG" now she says "DOOOOOOOOOD" for dog...I don't know what happened there. She says "cow". She says "duck." She says, "Shopa" for sheep and "nake" for snake. Its so funny to me how her words change. Sheep used to sound a lot like a bad word, ha ha, I'm glad that its changed to "shopa." I'm trying to get them on video, but so far, not so good.
Julianne has made some standing progress. She'll initiate standing if she's sitting on my leg in front of the ottoman and she'll stand (with us giving just a little support at the knees) for 5 to 10 seconds. She's also staying on her hands and knees longer. No movement forward yet, but that will come eventually. We're also working on transitioning from belly to sitting. I think that one will come soon.
Tummy and G.I. problems...I'm not going to go down that road. Its basically the same old song and dance. We're still praying and searching for an answer/remedy.
Thanks so much for checking in on Julianne and thank you always for your prayers. We appreciate them so very much! We're so thankful for everything God has done for Julianne and everything he's taught us through her. Have a great weekend!
