Wow! We can hardly believe Julianne has been with us for one whole year! In some ways it seems like we've only had her for a few months and in other ways it seems like she's always been here. We've said it before and we'll say it a million more times, God has blessed us in so many ways through Julianne. We are so truly thankful that she's here with us. She amazes us everyday as she brings joy not only to her family, but to strangers we meet out and about. Its hard to believe that this is the same little girl who was given such a bleak prognosis when she was first diagnosed by the Perinatologist. This year we've had moments of great fear and heartache, but we've had many more moments of joy and celebration. We cherish everyday and try our hardest not to take any of them for granted. We have a daily reminder of the fragility of life. We know she's a miracle and we thank God everyday for how far He's brought her. It's with great joy that we wished our amazing little girl a very happy first birthday today. :)
At one year old some of Julianne's newest tricks and talents include:
Saying dada, mama, hi, dog, no no noooooo and doctor (You might not believe that she says doctor, but she really does! She has a stuffed surgeon that she plays with and we say, "Where's your doctor?" and she grabs him and says "Doctoh!")
She also says a variety of words in Julianne language and tries to repeat almost anything we say
She rolls a ball back and forth to us
Waves as soon as you say "hi" or "bye"
Plays peek-a-boo (with her hands backwards)
Grabs and tries to eat clothes off of the rack at the mall (this one is not allowed :)
She can show you how old she is by holding out one finger
We are so excited to see her progressing!!! Thank you all so very, very much, from the bottom of our hearts for all of your continued prayers, support, love, encouragement and everything else that you've done for us. We are surrounded by wonderful, caring people.
Here are some pictures from today AND a video! Hope you enjoy!
