We Made It!

Yup, we did! We arrived in New Orleans at about 7:15 PM last night. It was a pretty uneventful trip with a great little traveler. Julianne did well on both flights. She was actually more fussy in the airport than on the plane! She was absolutely precious and stole the hearts of some onlookers. :)

We had a couple of little hic-ups. They were minor enough that we didn't find out about them until after we'd landed. The airline broke Julianne's stroller. A can of formula busted in our suitcase. And the zipper on our diaper bag broke. We've purchased a replacement stroller and the airline has already paid us for it (they were actually REALLY great, apologetic and helpful about the whole thing)! We've shaken out all of our clothes and put them in the washer. We just need to find the vacuum attachment to vacuum out the rest of the formula. And we have a couple of other diaper bags, so no worries there either. It was a good trip. We are very thankful for a safe trip and we are thankful to be home! It was so nice to sleep in our own beds!

Julianne has Cardiologist and Pediatrician appointments on Friday and an appointment with Early Steps on Tuesday. Early Steps comes to our house, so that's nice. We will be sure to update this weekend to let you know the outcome of her appointments!

Our hope is that Julianne will not undergo another surgery until the third stage of her repair, the Fontan, when she's 2 1/2 years old. Please continue to pray for Julianne's heart function to improve fully and, as always, we'd LOVE for her to be able to eat! That is something that we'll be working on in the coming months. We certainly don't want to have to puree' her wedding cake and put it through the tube, right? :)

It has been a longer journey than we expected for this round. Thank you so much for your constant prayers and encouragement. In addition to our gratefulness for God's protection and healing of Julianne, we are grateful for all of you and for how He's used you to care for our family during the past year (it will be one year on 3/31 since we found out about Julianne's heart). Thank you so very, very much!

Finally, here are some new pictures and a video of our little one: (Correction, I was GOING to post a video, but I can't get YouTube to cooperate at the moment, so the video will have to wait.)

Practicing sitting up deep in thought

Must've been a pleasant thought

In her Easter head band!

Just waiting for daddy and mommy to get their act together so we can go to the airport

Back at the New Orleans airport! (Julianne's foot is not THAT big, her sock is just coming off)

Ready to head out to get my new stroller!

I'm so glad to hear you all made it home finally! I know you were glad to be back in your own beds last night. Praying for continued healing of Julianne's heart function and that she will really pick up an interest in eating now that the 2nd surgery is behind her. This month makes a year since we first found out about Ethan's heart condition too!

Blessings to you all,

Julie, Dan & Ethan Miles

Welcome home! Praising God for a safe return and a (pretty) uneventful trip. And, hey, a new stroller is kind-of exciting! We'll still be praying.
